Yoma Bank was founded in May of 1993 by entrepreneur U Theim Wai @ Serge Pun. The bank opened its first branch in August of 1993 and since has expanded exponentially to become one of the largest banks in Myanmar, offering full fledged retail banking services to individuals, SMEs and corporate clients.  

Yoma Bank ranks among the top 5 banks in Myanmar by assets, whilst employing a workforce of over 3000 employees and operating over 80 branches across Myanmar. It offers savings products, a wide range of loans and business solutions to individuals, SMEs and local corporate clients to fund their business operations in Myanmar.

Being the first domestic bank with foreign equity investment, Yoma Bank strives to maintain good corporate governance and transparency. Yoma Bank strives to fulfill its mission to “Build a better Myanmar for its people” financing the needs of Myanmar families and businesses.
