Biographical Details


Daw Zin Mie Mie is serving as the Chief Compliance Officer of the Bank starting from July 2024. Prior to this position, she served as the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer from June 2021, where she played a key role in enhancing the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) framework as well as successfully implementing a robust compliance risk management structure. She also held Corporate Secretary position since May 2019, where she was instrumental in establishing the corporate governance system for the Bank. Her career journey with Yoma Bank began in 2014, where she headed the Treasury Department and was pivotal in building treasury department as a profit centre of the Bank along with the implementation a front to back treasury system.

Before joining Yoma Bank, she was the Assistant Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London, one of the leading investment banks, from 2010 to 2014, where she managed financial control function for the equity structured financing business. She also served as a Product Control Analyst in the Prime Services business at Credit Suisse in London from 2006 to 2010.

Born and raised in Myanmar until her early teens, Daw Zin Mie Mie holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, and Economics from Warwick University, UK. She is a Chartered Management Accountant with the UK-based Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and an internationally recognized Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS).
