Yoma Bank confirms a positive case of an employee in Sittwe Branch

Yangon, Myanmar – 22 August 2020 – Yoma Bank announced today that one of its employees working at Sittwe Branch, North Yupa Ward, Sittwe has tested positive for COVID-19. The infected employee is Case 411, announced positive by the Myanmar Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on 8:00 p.m., 21 August 2020 and is currently undergoing facility quarantine.

The Sittwe branch is temporarily closed for deep cleaning and full disinfection. All 28 Sittwe branch employees that may have been in close contact with the affected employee are now undergoing quarantine.

“Protecting our employees and the communities we serve has always been our highest priority. While we have closed the Sittwe branch temporarily, we will work on ways to support our customers in the meantime. We have activated all precautionary and preventive measures in accordance with the safety guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our employees and customers. ” said CEO of Yoma Bank, Mr. Dean Cleland.

All Yoma Bank branches except the Sittwe Branch will remain open with normal working hours. Yoma Bank will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure the safety of our customers, employees and partners.
