This year JobNet and partners went online to celebrate employers who uplift the Human Resources principles in Myanmar

Yangon, MYANMAR — 11 December 2020: Yoma Bank, one of Myanmar’s leading banks, was tonight the main sponsor of JobNet’s Myanmar Employer Awards 2020. As a COVID-19 safety precaution, the MEA 2020 was celebrated as a Virtual Event at MEA Facebook & LinkedIn pages. The organizer JobNet.com.mm is Myanmar’s most widely used online professional job site and digital recruitment platform.

Myanmar Employer Awards was initiated in 2017 and is an annual ceremony, that encourage and recognize best practices in human resource management.

A main topic was navigating through COVID-19, which has been the main challenge for all employers this year. Crisis also highlights the power of resilience and teamwork – patience and persistent in the face of adversity and the importance of having teams which share the same values.

In the opening speech Nang Khin Khin Gyi, Chief People Officer at Yoma Bank, shared how back in August, when one of Yoma Bank’s branch staff in Sittwe was diagnosed with COVID and all staff had to go into hotel quarantine, staff from all over Myanmar volunteered to stand in even before an official request had been made. This proved – like so many times before – that the bank’s people share the same value of putting the customer first. It is an act of ‘Hna Lone Thaar A Yin Khan’ – setting our hearts and soul into our work with care and empathy, striving to do our best for the people we serve.

Nang Khin Khin Gyi joined Yoma Bank as a Chief Auditor four years ago, and her career move to Chief People Officer is an inspiration for people who consider moving out of their comfort zone and aspire to become successful in a new field.

She continued: “I would like to congratulate all the winners and thank JobNet and the team for the work they do in highlighting the importance of offering a great place to work and grow. Like Yoma Bank their efforts are a strong foundational step towards Building a better Myanmar for its People”.
